China introduces new Foreigners' Entry/Exit Card

Beginning from October 2007, the Ministry of Public Security will order all the border control checkpoints to use new Foreigners' Entry/Exit Cards. The said card is divided into two parts: Entry Part and Exit Part. After a traveler goes through all the checking procedures, the officers at the checkpoints will tear off the Entry Part, and return the Exit Part to the traveler for his/her use of departure from China.

The old Exit Registration Card will remain in use for another month at the checkpoints for those foreigners who enter into China before the new Foreigners' Entry/Exit Card is introduced.
