Consulate-General in Dubai Held Looking into the Future: Government-Enterprise Matchmaking Event

On October 17, 2022, the Consulate-General in Dubai successfully held “Looking into the Future: Government-Enterprise Matchmaking Event” at the Museum of the Future, which was co-organized by the Board of Directors of Hala China and the Chinese Business Council in the UAE. More than 250 guests attended the event, including Sheikh Majid Al Mualla, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Hala China; Hadi Badri,  CEO of Economic Development at Dubai Economy and Tourism; H.E. Abdul Rahman Al Nuaimi, Director General of Ajman Municipality and Planning Department; H.E. Moutassem Awda, Board Member of Emirates Transport and H.E. Faryal Tawakul, Acting CEO of Emirates Transport, and representatives from various sectors, including the local government, industries, commerce, and science and education, as well as Chinese enterprises and Chinese and foreign media.

Consul-General Li Xuhang said in his speech that in the past decade, socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era, China’s economic strength has increased significantly, and its comprehensive national power and international influence have seen notable enhancement. The 20th CPC National Congress opened on October 16, and General Secretary Xi Jinping made a report to the Congress, comprehensively drawing a grand blueprint for China’s development in the next stage, which will further inject confidence and momentum for peaceful development and win-win cooperation in the world. Li Xuhang pointed out that China’s economy is the largest engine of world economic growth, and foreign investors are confident that China’s economy will maintain its momentum in the long run. Dubai, known as the “City of the Future”, is becoming an important contributor to shaping a new global vision for advanced technology. Under the strategic leadership of the top leaders of both countries, China-UAE relations are developing rapidly, with a high degree of mutual political trust and flourishing cooperation in various fields. Looking ahead, China-UAE partnership is bright and promising.

Prince Majid expressed his pleasure in hosting this event to discuss the future economic strategy of the UAE with the Chinese and the UAE communities and to explore the business and investment opportunities for Chinese enterprises in the region. The Board of Directors of Hala China will continue to promote digital transformation, deepen cultural exchanges and economic and trade ties with China, and contribute to the win-win development of both sides.

During the event, Hadi Badri introduced Dubai’s economic trends and the latest policies of Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism. Wang Guihai, President of the Chinese Business Council in the UAE, introduced member companies of the Chamber and their needs. Omar Khan, Director of Director of International Offices at Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, explained the strategic policies and core services of the Chamber. Sharif El-Badawi, CEO of Dubai Future District Fund, explained the policies of the Fond.

Weihai City of Shandong Province and Wenshan Prefecture of Yunnan Province promoted their business environment and investment opportunities through video. NEV showcased the development opportunities of the local new energy vehicle industry and signed a cooperation agreement with Emirates Transport. Hikvision and Ajman Municipality signed a strategic cooperation memorandum. Representatives from the Chinese and UAE business community and academia discussed the development trend and cooperation prospects in technology and finance between the two countries in the theme session of looking into the future.

The government-enterprise matchmaking event aims to seize the new development opportunities in China and the UAE, realize government-enterprise and enterprise-enterprise matchmaking through a series of activities such as policy interpretation, special promotion and on-site negotiation, promote the high-quality development of Chinese enterprises in the consular district of Dubai, push forward the practical cooperation between China and the UAE, and create a bright future together.
