Consul General Li Xuhang extended warm congratulations on the launching of Chinese School Dubai and expressed heartfelt thanks to KHDA and other relevant departments of the Dubai government, Chinese companies, and enthusiastic overseas Chinese for their strong support and help in the establishment of the Chinese School Dubai. He said that the school is a successful implementation of President Xi Jinping’s instruction of “Education Going Global”. As a pilot project of overseas Chinese schools sponsored by the Ministry of Education, this school is the first full-time Chinese school successfully established overseas by the Chinese government as well as the first school adopting Chinese education system in Dubai. It will meet the urgent need of Chinese children in Dubai to receive high-quality basic education under the Chinese school system. It will also help attract more Chinese talents to start businesses in Dubai and increase the proportion of contributions to the development of Dubai made by China.

Li Xuhang emphasized that under the care of the leaders of the two countries, with the strong support and joint efforts of the Ministry of Education of China, Department of Education of Zhejiang Province, Hangzhou Municipal Education Bureau, and government departments of Dubai including the KHDA, the Chinese School Dubai has been successfully established despite so many difficulties. It has become another successful example of China-UAE cooperation. The establishment of the school will create more favourable conditions for close exchanges between educational institutions in China and the UAE to learn from each other's experience, which will help Dubai create a world-renowned educational highland and become an innovative and win-win project in the BRI cooperation between China and the UAE.

Director General Abdulla Al Karam said in his speech that he was glad that the first overseas Chinese school supported by the Chinese government landed in Dubai. Dubai has been looking forward to a Chinese school for many years, and it is delightful that it has been seen today. China and the UAE share a philosophy that we will never bow to any difficulties. Even in the difficult times of the severe pandemic, we worked hand in hand to meet the difficulties and finally established the Chinese School Dubai, which became the best demonstration of the close friendship between the two countries. The establishment of the school will become a strong bond for the overseas Chinese in Dubai. At the same time, it will also provide all the teachers and students in Dubai with a good opportunity to learn about the Chinese people and Chinese culture.

Principal Shang Ke based in Hangzhou attended the ceremony through internet. He said that today is a significant moment for the Chinese School Dubai. He thanked the Ministry of Education, the Consulate General in Dubai, KHDA and various Chinese companies for their support to the establishment of the school. It is believed that with the joint efforts of all parties and the excellent school-running tradition and educational vision of Hangzhou No. 2 High School, the Chinese School Dubai will surely become a pioneering, iconic and leading overseas Chinese school.

Principal Yin Liping gave a detailed introduction on the nature of the school, school-running philosophy, curriculum, teacher resource, campus layout, school preparations, and future planning, etc. The guests witnessed the issue of electronic school licenses by the KHDA to Chinese School Dubai. Later they visited the classrooms, playgrounds, and other facilities.
