On March 15th, Consul General Li Xuhang had a video meeting with Adel Ahmed Al Redha, the Chief Operating Officer of Emirates. They communicated on strengthening international cooperation in the fight against Covid-19 and jointly tightening prevention and control at the places of departure for China to reduce the number of imported cases. Sheikh Majid Al Mualla, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hala China and the Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates International Affairs, also attended the meeting.

Li Xuhang said that in recent years, the friendly and cooperative relations between China and the UAE have accelerated, and bilateral economic and trade cooperation and flow of people have been increasing. As a world-renowned airline, Emirates actively cooperates with China's policy of prevention and control at places of departure for China and has made outstanding contributions to promoting China-UAE exchanges and cooperation. The current situation of the epidemic over the world is still complicated and severe. Several imported cases were found on the flights of Emirates, which have caused suspension of many flights. The Consulate General in Dubai is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Emirates to provide suggestions for epidemic prevention and control at places of departure for China, find ways to reduce imported cases, and ensure the safety and health of passengers.

Sheikh Majid Al Mualla said that Emirates attaches great importance to the operation of flights bound for China and fully understands and supports China's prevention and control policies and measures for places of departure for China. Since the outbreak of Covid-19, Emirates has been an active carrier of commercial cargo between China and the UAE, which has been highly appreciated by the people of the two countries. Emirates is willing to work with the Consulate General to cope with the impact of Covid-19, aiming to effectively reduce imported cases by formulating reliable plans and ensure the health of passengers and the safety of flights.
