With the coordination and promotion by the Consulate and Embassy of China in the UAE, on May 27, Dubai Health Authority vaccinated nearly 200 Chinese nationals who temporarily stayed in the UAE with the Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine, marking the official launch of the regional vaccination site for Chinese nationals in Dubai under the Spring Sprout Action. Consul General Li Xuhang, Vice Consul-General Sun Xudong, and representatives of the Dubai government including Dr. Manal Taryam, CEO of Primary Healthcare Services Sector of the DHA, visited the vaccination site together on that day.
They inspected the registration office, vaccination room, and observation area of the vaccination center, and asked the on-site medical staff in detail about the registration on the day and the process of vaccination. They also expressed thanks to them for their thoughtful arrangements and meticulous attitude in work.
Later, Li Xuhang had a cordial exchange with the Chinese compatriots who were vaccinated there, asking about their feelings after the vaccination. They could not hide their excitement, saying that they were very proud of being able to receive the vaccine from the motherland. They expressed their gratitude to the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government for their care. They also thanked the Consulate and Embassy of China for their effort in setting the overseas Chinese nationals’ mind at ease and enhancing their confidence in overcoming the epidemic.
Li Xuhang told the Chinese and foreign media at the scene that in order to convey the Chinese government's care for overseas Chinese nationals by promoting the Spring Sprout Action, the Consulate and Embassy of China in the UAE have devoted major effort to communicating with the UAE government to launch the regional vaccination site in Dubai. This initiative will benefit many Chinese nationals who stay the UAE temporarily, and will also help the UAE build a strong barrier to the epidemic. It is another major measure under the cooperation between the two countries to fight Covid-19. The establishment of the regional vaccination site fully reflects the friendly sentiments of the UAE government and people to the Chinese government and people, embodies the high level comprehensive strategic partnership between China and UAE, and demonstrates Dubai’s international responsibility and its influence to surrounding areas. China is willing to further strengthen cooperation with the UAE in fighting Covid-19 and make greater contributions to building a global health community.
