On August 16, Consul General Li Xuhang was invited by Shanghai Electric to attend its launch event of commissioning the Package A of the fifth phase project of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. The event was hosted by the project owner, Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA). Those who also attended the event include Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, Maktoum bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Department of Civil Aviation and Chairman of Emirates Airline, and Saeed Mohammed Ahmad Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority.
During the event, Consul General Li Xuhang and HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum exchanged views on the new energy market of the UAE and the progress of the Solar Park project built by Shanghai Electric.
The contract for the fifth phase project of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park is to build a photovoltaic power station with a capacity of 900MW. Located in the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, it is the largest photovoltaic power station project in Dubai so far. The project is implemented in three stages, 300MW in each.
